Sometimes the hardest balance is with yourself

We were having a difficult time as a company. The economy was tough and we had to make tough choices - do we lay off staff and barely meet our financial goals or do we tighten our belts and come up short?

I chose the side of the people - that time. They were hardest to replace.

We came up a little short and I was severely impacted by the stakeholders for that decision.

Balancing between results, employees, customers, and ourselves can be tough.

As executives, we're paid to make hard decisions when the outcome is not always so clear.

Sometimes the hardest struggle is with ourselves.
